A series of photos taken of passengers on train journeys on the King’s Lynn to King’s Cross line.
Pre-pandemic mask-less strangers reading, talking, watching and sleeping as the train passes through the Norfolk and Cambridgeshire countrysides of The Fens from dawn to dusk.
Their stories are a mystery but these photos capture clues. Commuters with laptops preparing for the work day ahead, people looking forward to celebrating in the city, friends talking on the phone plotting their imminent rendezvous, applicants anxious of the impending interview, romantic hopefuls getting ready for a first date and hopeless lovers returning alone.
Each carriage presents a cross-section of daily life. They’re all on the same track but they may have very different days ahead.
